Our recent Easter stay at Agriturismo Belvedere was a bittersweet experience, as we mourned the passing of the beloved owner, Gian Piero, yet rejoiced in seeing his children seamlessly take over and run the property with great success. The location, just 0.9 miles from Bolsena, offered easy access to must-visit towns like Viterbo and Orvieto, making it a perfect base for exploring the area.The view of Lake Bolsena from the garden and our room was simply breathtaking, adding a serene backdrop to our holiday. We were warmly welcomed by Aurora, Michelle, and the budding chef Federico, whose culinary skills left us eagerly awaiting each meal. Federico's ability to accommodate special requests and surprise us with his innovative dishes truly elevated our dining experience. The farmhouse itself exuded a cozy and homely atmosphere, with a real chimney in the dining room creating a welcoming ambiance, perfect for chilly evenings in early spring. The rooms, with their simple classic décor and free Wi-Fi, provided a comfortable retreat after a day of exploration. We particularly appreciated the hearty breakfast buffet, featuring delicious homemade cakes, served in the charming breakfast room where a pool table added a fun touch to our mornings.While the language barrier with the hosts was noticeable, their friendliness and attentiveness more than made up for it, adding to the overall charm of the place. The hotel's amenities, including the outdoor pool and terrace, further enhanced our stay, making Agriturismo Belvedere a delightful choice for a relaxing and culturally rich holiday in the heart of Lazio. We left feeling not just like guests, but part of an extended family, a testament to the dedication of the staff in ensuring a memorable experience for every visitor.
